Epitaph
The composition embroidered on this epitaph representing the scene „of the mourning for Jesus” after he was lowered from the cross, is structured on a median horizontal axis, marked by the lifeless body of the main character, who is schematically drawn.

All around him, among the myriad golden stars, four angels in the upper register and four others in the lower register mourn for and glorify the Saviour, while in the four corners of the epitaph other four angels, as deacons, prostrate themselves, with a rhipidium in their hands; on each rhipidium the Greek word „aghios” (saint) is embroidered three times. The border is specifically Byzantine with vegetal stylistic motifs.
