The tombstone of brothers Bogdan and Petru,
the sons of Stephen the Great

1480

It is a rectangular tombstone carved with stylised leaves, flowers and fruit placed on two equal surfaces, separated in the middle by a square frame also adorned with flowers. Under the stems intertwined on the upper side in the shape of an accolade arch, is carved one of the most complete Moldavian coats of arms, consisting of the aurochs’ head with the star between its horns and the overturned head, framed by lambrequins and placed above a helmet placed, in its turn, on the Moldavian dynastic shield, carved on the right side. It is considered to be the only coat of arms in the 15th - 18th-century Moldavia entirely included in the decoration of a tombstone.
