Virgin Mary with Baby Jesus

The icon is now more a work in silver than a painting, as the silver layer, placed by Iacov Putneanul in 1755, covers almost all the icon. Only the faces of Mary, Jesus, and the archangels Michael and Gabriel can be seen. Special attention should be paid to the hands of the characters, which are wrought in silver.
