Moldavia's coat of arms

Placed inside a quadrifoiled frame, with a Slavonic votive inscription, the Moldavian coat of arms is presented here in its most elaborate form. The aurochs’ head, in frontal presentation, with its arched neck, bears between its horns a horizontal crescent and a five-pointed star. The eyes, nostrils, and ears are carefully carved, lending a great degree of expressiveness to the image.
