Constantin Racoviţă's coat of arms
1757
The whole surface inside the frame bearing the votive inscription shows a heraldic shield, decorated with quasi-baroque stylised sheaves of wheatears and semi palmettes. A princely crown, between a mace and a broadsword, is placed at the top. The reunited coats of arms of Moldavia and Wallachia appear: Wallachia’s eagle, with slightly spread wings and the cross in its beak, gracefully turns its head towards the Moldavian aurochs’s head. The sun and the moon on either side of the aurochs’ head have human faces.
