The Book of the Four Gospels of Obedenschi
XVIIth century
This is a large Slavonic manuscript, in folio, with an impeccable writing style, in half-inch lettering, on thick, filigreed paper, which has on it the image of a banner made from a shield, an axe and a two-headed eagle, armed with a sword.
The book contains 374 pages, written in black ink, on each page being 20 lines. The headings, the initials, some lines and words, as well as the decorations are written in red ink. The spaces destined to be filled with the title pages are left blank. The miniatures of the figures of the evangelists are also missing.
The manuscript is bound in wooden covers, with red leather.
