Temple veil
XVth - XVIth century
Italian silk fabric with stitched metal thread, lined with white new silk, over an original lining of deteriorated cotton linen.
The veil is made out of fragments of royal garments, of cherry-coloured silk, and is decorated with sinuous intertwined stems, that have golden and silver flowers, leaves, pomgranate and pineapple fruits, sown with golden, silver and silk threads fixed on them.
