Father Teophilactus was a pillar of the Putna Monastery for almost 63 years. He was the embodiment of the spiritually advanced monk, who forced nature to make a monk out of the inner man, the secret man of the heart, with the help of the incorruptible adornment of a gentle and peaceful spirit, working to attain the whole measure of fullness. He showed special piety to the sacred things, strictly respecting the monastery schedule, rejecting laxity, neglect, and everything else that could jeopardize his spiritual progress.
