The Putna Monastery keeps one of Southeastern Europe’s most valuable collections of embroidery in the Byzantine technique. The English version of this volume allows readers from all over the world to admire the pieces of this collection, some of which are part of Romania’s national cultural patrimony, and to find more on the technique and history of their making.

The volume was published to mark 550 years since the laying of the foundation stone for Putna Monastery by Holy Voievode Stephen the Great.
