The 1490 Epitaphios


This monumental embroidery was gifted to Putna Monastery by Stephen the Great, together with his wife, Maria, and their son, Bogdan, in 1490.

Venerable Eustathius the Protopsaltes


He was the first Romanian composer of psaltic music and the founder of the Putna Music School. For Moldavia, he was what Saint John Koukouzel, the protopsalt of the Great Lavra, was for Mount Athos.
